Fa-vor-it-ism (noun) the practice of giving unfair
preferential treatment to one person or group at the expense of another
But if you show
favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. James 2:9
NIV
In light of the Trayvon Martin trial, the cracks in our
judicial system are evident of the bold practice of unfair preferential
treatment at the expense of another. In the eyes of God, this is a sin. This is
not a time for us to become as they do, but to be doers of God’s word, and pray
against the spirit of injustice in our land. We ourselves have to examine our
motives towards others to ensure we too aren’t partaking in the same sin as our
judicial system.
The verdict in this trial and all the circumstances surrounding
it really hit home for me. I’ve learned I have to see a prayer through as well as know
that vengeance is the Lord’s, even though I may not know when that may take
place. I also learned that I must believe God at His word and that ALL things
will work for the good for those who love Him and keep His commandments. I
quest is not to try to figure out when and how, but to simply pray! I’m just
saying!
