For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11
Have you ever heard the saying "everything good for you may not be right for you?" That's actually Scripture found in 1 Corinthians 10:23 which says "all things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify." We may have the right or the authority to do or have some things, but not "all things" add value to our lives.
In our text God says He will not withhold the good thing from us. Notice, this comes with a stipulation: we must walk upright before Him. We are to seek to be obedient to His ways. We are to acknowledge Him as a deity and once we are consistent with pleasing Him through obedience, He will release the good thing He promises not to withhold. Ever wonder what the good thing is? Grace and glory! With God's extension of grace and glory, there is nothing good that can be withhold. God's grace gives us the pardon to perform great exploits for His kingdom. And with His glory, nothing can be concealed that is meant to shine forth: you and I are meant to shine forth!
Are you waiting on the good thing from God? Are you prepared for the good thing?
Your thoughts!
