Fundamentals of Faith

Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

I purposely used the title "Fundamentals of Faith" because that's pretty much how we tend to look at faith. We turn faith into this calculated event, when it's merely believing what we say. Faith can be so much more to a believer than simply trusting. Faith is also liberating. It's liberating in the sense that it dispels worrying, it produces hope and it places us in a posture to receive from our heavenly Father.

As we examine our text we see that faith is implied and a co-laborer of prayer ("whatever you ask for in prayer, believe"). Often times we believe we need to do different types of theatrics to exhibit faith or to get our Father's attention. But I'm here to tell you, we already operate in faith each and every day. We expect to get to our destinations safely...that's exhibiting faith. We expect doctor's examinations to go well...that's exhibiting faith. We expect our marriages and relationships to work out...that's exhibiting faith. We do this each and every day and everyday by faith it does.

In order to exercise the fundamentals of faith...just live and believe when you pray, that you already have what you ask for, before it manifests. Now that's faith!

Your thoughts!
