And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. Deuteronomy 8:2
Reading today's Scripture brings to mind another Scripture which says, who (what) shall separate us from the love of Christ, Romans 8:35. The text then goes on to list a few things beginning with tribulation. After having gone through a few things in my life, I'm come to the realization that God's word is true. Regardless of what we suffer, He will make it (whatever that thing is) work for our good. As we look at the text we see that there was purpose in the children of Israel going through the wilderness for 40 years (when it actually should've only taken them 11 days). The purpose was to show them what was in their hearts and what would keep them from obeying the Lord their God.
So it is with us, we too must suffer things (because we shall have tribulation, John 16:33) that will cause us to come to (choose) complete obedience to the will and Word of God. Let's begin to change our outlook on the trials we experience. Know that God is working some things out!
Your thoughts!
Our attitude determines our altitude. I choose to "count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;" (James 1:2) When I'm going through, I KNOW that God is going to make it alright. Whatever the trial, I'm going through it with the joy of the Lord!!! Amen
