1. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved
2. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge
3. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Romans 10:1-3
As I read these Scriptures, my heart began to think about and mourn for America. A country which was founded on the very principles of the Bible has turned away from its foundational principles and from making God first. I encourage those of you who know how to go boldly to the throne room of God, to petition Him for the state of our country. In wake of the upcoming presidential election as well as the heightened, blatant attack upon black lives, we are in desperate need of people who will submit themselves to the righteousness of God. We need a change and we need it quickly.
In our text we see Paul's heart's desire and prayer is that Israel be saved. That right there, should be our prayer for our country. We should also pray that the zeal people have for their own agenda (unrighteousness) be rearranged to God's agenda of righteousness, fairness and equality for all.
We must be the change we want to see in others!
Your thoughts!
