His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3
I'm sure many of us have heard the phrase "your life may be the only bible people read." Although it's not written in Scripture verbatim, it does have some validity to it. The life we live not only acts as a testament of what we've experienced, it also speaks of who we say we represent. If you're constantly participating in the daily chew about others, using manipulation to get your way or if chaos follows you wherever you go, then the absence of Christ is represented in your. If this is you, please know there is still hope: and this hope comes through the acceptance of Christ's finished work at Calvary.
Our text informs us that we have divine power given to us by Christ to lead a godly life. This power enables us to fight against our human nature which wants to perform acts contrary to God's nature. This power strengthens us in areas where we are weak, and gives us victory over our flesh. Don't think for a moment, if you're in Christ, that you don't have what you need to succeed as a child of God. We have EVERYTHING we need, not only to cause change in our lives, but in the lives of others as well.

Fix Me Lord
Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. Job 5:17
There often isn't a positive outlook from a person receiving correction. It rarely feels good but its purpose, if done properly, can produce much fruit. I don't believe anyone who receives correction says on the onset, "wow, I really needed this," but generally takes defense because they feel offended.
The offense could be a result of the way the correction was done or presented.
In our text we read that the one who God corrects is blessed and they should not despise His discipline. Why do you believe this to be so? The answer is simple...love. Everything God does for His children is done out of love. When correction is done out of love, it's easier to receive. When correction is done from a place of love, it won't be despised, but welcomed and eventually applied so that change can occur in that person's life. Nothing but good comes out of a life that has been corrected by God. That life my brothers and sisters, is a life that's blessed!
Remember, love covers a multitude of sin (wrongdoing) and that love is Christ Jesus. Will you allow the Lord to correct that which is wrong in you today? I will!

What About You?
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14 NIV
Have you ever wondered, seriously, if God forgot about you? You see others around you moving and shaking, but you remain in the center of your circumstance asking, "what about me Lord?" I'm not talking to the Super Saint or the Crazy Christian who has it all together, but to the one who yearns to follow God's Word in obedience and experience all the promises He has to offer them.
You know, the one who's been waiting for some time now and is just about ready to give up. Allow me to shine a little light on your wait. You see, I learned last week that a sign of God's silence is INTIMACY!!! Wait...wait for it...ahhh, there it is...REVELATION! Yes, it is in God's silence that we are drawn closer to Him and in that closeness we feel secure and confident of His love. It's in this place that we can trust that He will do exactly what He promises and perform it at the appointed time. He knows what is best for us.
There's power (strength) in waiting for the Lord. Are you strong in the Lord today? Will you continue to wait, knowing the waiting makes you more intimate with God?

Coming Clean
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9 NIV
Sin (an offense against God's law/commands) separates us from Him. (Period!) If we claim to be His children, when we error or commit a sin, we must confess it in order to receive forgiveness. If we continue in sin, because according to the world's standards we feel we haven't, the Bible says the truth is not in us. Romans 3:23 states that ALL have sinned (past tense) and fall short (present tense) of the glory of God. Truth be told, we error in some way, everyday! But the enemy wants us to become desensitized to the instructions God has put in place for us, in that we don't need to confess and repent of the sin.
If you desire a clean slate, God says He will give you one if you come clean with Him. Yes, He already knows what we've done, but God desires to hear from us, yep, fellowship with us.
If you're willing to bear it all, God is willing and ready to forgive you and purify you from every wrong thing you've done. Take a moment to unload those things that's been keeping you from God's best...God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit...He's waiting!!!
